Guanajuato Silver’s ability to draw on the best mining talent in the county is due in part to the quality of life offered by the city and region. Often referred to as The Most Beautiful City in Mexico, Guanajuato is a very popular tourist destination for both Mexicans and international travelers.
Additionally, the mining school of the University of Guanajuato is regarded as one of he best in the county. Many of the current employees of Guanajuato Silver are graduates of the University of Guanajuato.
Guanajuato’s colonial past remains vibrant today, a UNESCO World Heritage designation; the city is divided into neighborhoods; the oldest of which are all named after the mines that were found there. For example, the Valenciana Mine has been producing since 1774 and has produced about 30% of the world’s silver over the past 250 years.
